Collecting
Tea Cards
This
section has been recently added to the wesite, so I had to get my
fountain pen out again and add a belated intoduction. My husband
was an avid tea card collector before he passed away – a habit
he carried from childhood, but that's men for you. The upshot is
that I was cleaning out the cupboard under the stairs when I came
across a great number of albums stuffed with colourful cards, which
to be honest, are a mess. When I was a young girl I collected just
the albums, which I kept neat and flat, refusing all efforts to
get me to paste in the tiresome cards that make the albums go all
lumpy – particularly if you used water based glue, or worse,
made your own glue from flour and water. Anyway, I have passed on
my husband's material to our designer, who never even thanked me
for the idea, let alone the cards. I'll have to have a word with
his Mother.
